Nick at Nite is rallying behind the success of last year's "Search for the Funniest Mom in America" with a second season of the competition. For all moms who are convinced that their material should be heard by more than just their kids, this could finally be their big break! Nick at Nite viewers who are also Moms get a shot at small-screen fame to be crowned this year's "Funniest Mom in America." One lucky winner will be chosen to develop her own original show for the network, win $50,000 plus host a special night of programming on Nick at Nite.
Open auditions take place on Tuesday, November 1st, 8:00 -10:00 p.m. at The Laugh Factory in Hollywood (8001 Sunset Boulevard). Moms need to sign up before 8:00 p.m. Moms, 18 years of age and older, should arrive with 3 minutes of comedy to compete to be a finalist in the contest. You are formally invited to an exclusive free test screening of veteran standup comic Scott LaRose's new Horror/Comedy movie "Comedy Hell." The event will be held at the Laugh Factory on Halloween, October 31, 2005 at 10 PM. The feature film tells the story of three stand-up comics who cross paths with a serial killer during a real "Hell Gig." After the movie is done (which is 88 minutes) there will be a Q & A (as long as is permitted) with the performers. There will be no cover for the screening and yet it is understood that there will be a two-drink minimum throughout the festivities.

The Laugh Factory Asian Night is growing to become one of the hippest comedy nights in town with A-list stand-up comedians fighting to get on stage! Dane Cook will also be performing at the Laugh Factory on Friday and Saturday at 10pm!!!

Join us for Yom Kippur
The Laugh Factory is hosting it's 23rd year of free services for the Jewish High holidays. People who work in the entertainment business who are unable to be home with friends and family during the holiday season are welcome to attend Yom Kippur services --and all members of the community are welcome as well. Services are conducted in the Reform Jewish tradition by Rabbi Jacobs and led by Cantor Sue Karlin. Yom Kippur services will begin with the Kol Nidre service on Wednesday, October 12th at 6:30pm. Yom Kippur services will continue on the morning of Thursday, October 13th at 11am with discussion afterwards, concluding with Neilah service at 6pm and a break-the-fast to follow. Laugh Factory accepts reservations at 323-656-1336 extension 1. Tickets are not required. Contributions are discouraged.
